We had the 6-course menu with wine pairing and the evening was sensational from start to finish. The food was outstanding, especially the "plain pasta" and the Russian salad—both were absolute highlights. WOW! In my opinion, the quality and execution here definitely deserve a Michelin star. :) The attention to detail is impressive, from the warm welcome to the beautiful plating. They really went above and beyond with the start and the finish of the meal; it felt like a continuous flow of surprises. From our seats, we could watch the kitchen team, and it was great to see such a professional, well-coordinated, and appreciative atmosphere among the staff. It was also a nice touch that they showed us their collection of past menus and gave us ours as a souvenir—since they create a new menu every single day, it’s a lovely memory to take home. I would highly recommend dining here to anyone visiting Milan. It was a fantastic evening and I will definitely be back next time I’m in the city. Thank you to the whole team for the experience.
Really impressed by their creativity. Eating here felt like a fun little adventure for the taste buds. A few dishes surprised me in a great way, and the flavor combinations were unusual but worked really well. Definitely worth trying!
One of the best restaurants we’ve tried in Milan so far. We had an incredible dinner at Autem. The food was absolutely delicious, creative and beautifully presented. The service was outstanding, and the entire experience truly felt like dining at a Michelin-star restaurant. Highly recommended!!
I’ve eaten at many great restaurants around the world (US, Europe, Asia, Australia), but Autem in Milan is the only place that truly made me appreciate the smell of food. The food is so good that is comparable with a Michelin 3 star restaurant. In some restaurants, a dish arrives covered and the server lifts the lid, theatrically fanning the smoke toward you. At Autem, there’s no need of that gimmick. Yet somehow the aromas are even more powerful. The moment each dish arrived, the fragrance was so vivid and inviting that it pulled you straight into the experience before the first bite. One dish that really stood out was the pasta. When it arrived, it looked completely simple—almost plain. But the flavor was incredible. It was filled with the fragrance of basil and a rich broth, and it turned out to be the best pasta I have ever tasted. And the pigeon—just order it. It’s exceptional. Each part is cooked differently so you can appreciate every texture and flavor: the crispness of the legs, the tenderness of the breast, and the deep richness of the giblets. We chose the 4-course tasting menu, and even though we were completely stuffed by the end, we both agreed we probably should have gone for the 6-course. The food was that good—you just want to keep tasting more. At lunch the dining room was fairly empty, likely because the restaurant is a bit outside the main tourist areas. But that only made the experience feel more special. Autem is absolutely worth seeking out.
We had a truly wonderful evening at Autem*. From the moment we arrived, we felt warmly welcomed by a friendly, attentive, and competent service team that accompanied us flawlessly throughout the night. The cuisine was original, surprising, and full of character – a true fine dining experience. Each dish impressed with its depth of flavor, creativity, and precision. The tastes were simply delicious, fresh, and the overall menu felt thoughtful and inspiring. The wine pairing was perfect and highly creative, elevating every course in a harmonious and exciting way. One absolute highlight was the pigeon: incredibly flavorful, wonderfully prepared, and executed with remarkable creativity. We also enjoyed one of the best salads we have ever eaten, as well as the most creative pasta dish we can remember. Every plate told a story. The restaurant itself is cozy and elegant, creating a relaxed yet refined atmosphere. In a city with an overwhelming number of dining options like Milan, Autem* truly stands out – a moment of pure happiness amid the vast culinary landscape. The price–performance ratio is, without a doubt, the best we have experienced in a long time. The entire evening was a beautifull experience. This is exactly how fine dining should be. Highly recommended, and we very much look forward to returning on our next visit to Milan!
