We visited on a Friday around 1:30 PM and had the Spaghetti Carbonara and the Spicy Salami Pinsa. Everything was absolutely excellent – from the food and the atmosphere to the outstanding service. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and both dishes were delicious. What impressed us the most was the honesty and generosity of the team. When it was time to pay, they automatically applied the lunch menu for us, including drinks and coffee, even though we didn't know about it as tourists. It was a very pleasant surprise and showed great customer care. A true 10/10 experience. Highly recommended – definitely 5 stars!
Wonderful food! Excellent service, Angelica was absolutely great and Amir was really helpful. I'd recommend their house wines, red and white both!! (I had red). The focaccia and meat platter(tagliere), carbonara and TIRAMISU!! ❤️. Will definitely return here.
We learned about this place from a couple we met on a day trip to Como and thankful they gave the rec! The food was so good. Pastas were perfect, chicory salad so fresh & delish, service was very attentive (I hope I left a good tip because it was extraordinarily attentive for Italy), food was so filling and huge portions. We had a great time 🙏
Lovely place!! We were looking for an authentic italian restaurant and this one was THE best. Really great food and also great service - Nicoleta was so kind and recommended us what to order. The carbonara is exceptional! A must in both Navigli and Milan.
Had such a lovely Italian dinner last night at Ai Balestrari Milano 🇮🇹✨ right by the canal in the Navigli district — one of Milan’s most charming areas, known for its historic waterways, lively atmosphere, and rows of restaurants and bars lining the water. Started with the Amatriciana-style supplì — perfectly crunchy on the outside, then soft, cheesy, and comforting inside, with just the right amount of tomato flavor. Honestly, such a great way to kick things off! For the main, I went for the oxtail in tomato sauce (la coda alla vaccinara) — definitely on the heavier side, but wow… absolutely delicious. Rich, slow-cooked, and full of flavor. Paired it with sautéed black kale and potatoes (cavolo nero ripassato con patate), which balanced everything out really nicely. The atmosphere was just as good as the food — very much a neighborhood, family-style restaurant vibe, with a nice mix of locals and a few tourists (I’d say about 80/20). Warm, lively, and exactly what you hope for in a Milan dinner spot.
