We came here the first evening in Milano and came back another night for dinner as well as a third time to buy wine. Everything we had was top tier like the bolognese. I cannot remember what everyone had, but there wasn’t one dish that we didn’t love. As for the wine, I love Italian reds and I’ve never heard of Roverone. I was blown away by the quality and price of the wine, $20 for the bottle. I bought three to bring back. When you drink wine out of a bowl, you know it’s going to be good! I’m sad we didn’t come back more. I would highly recommend this place. We were the only English speakers other than locals!!
If you want food that you might get from a local nonna, you should try this place. Nothing fancy, just good simple food done well at a decent price. In Italy, they charge for the bread and whatever extra bits that come with it (coperto) but at least here the coperto included these delicious cheese shavings. The tagliatelle al ragù was exactly what I expected it to be, rich in flavour with a lovely sweetness to it. The bill came to €21 including a bottle of water, a coke, the pasta and the coperto.
Good food very attentive staff. The place is small and sit family style. I came in with no reservation. They took my family of three with no issue. Had carbonara spaghetti. Milanesa, noogie and salad.
Great homemade pasta and cutlet is cooked just right. The house wine is a bit fizzy but smooth. We almost cannot get in without reservation, came in 7pm when open and were told to need to leave by 8:30pm. They are fully booked. It is truly a family style Milano food experience
This was such a nice surprise! They had a vegan option (tiny gnocchi with beans and tomato sauce) and lots of vegetarian options. We also enjoyed the fried bread and sparkling red wine. Would come back here for sure!
