I’ve been here several times, at least one dinner in Milan has to be here, because of my first experience there that left a lasting impression, and managed to make me associate Milan with the best things. This is what hospitality does to a city, a country. It shapes its image, and makes people want to come back and love that place overall. I was just having a walk one day to find this beautiful garden reuniting two small streets. I figured it was a restaurant, and I just asked with 0 expectations if they happen to have a table. They did not, everything was full and reserved, you could easily tell it was a fact. But, as I walked away, the manager called me to stop, and said they could arrange a small table somewhere on the last row. They asked me to kindly try to finish by 9pm, as they have to reorganize. At 9pm I was done, but they managed to do it some other way, and told me to stay as long as I want. Needless to say the food is exceptional, the personnel throughout the whole service was exceptional, but what makes me come back is the hope to always feel welcome in a city that, sadly, isn’t mine. :) Thank you, & hope to come back there soon, this time with my dog, too :)
Beautiful restaurant, excellent service great drinks. Olive oil and olive bread were delicious. Steak tender, virility very good, creamiest cheese cake I’ve ever had.
Came here for a Tuesday night dinner at 9:30pm. We initially had a reservation for a courtyard table but it was during a heatwave and it was still 36 degrees Celsius. The manager was very accommodating and seated us inside with AC which made it much more pleasant. The atmosphere in the courtyard was very romantic but it was quiet and intimate inside as well. The drinks, beef carpaccio and octopus were average but the tiramisu was exceptional and stole the show. Service was attentive and fast.
Salumaio offers both indoor and outdoor dining options. While May is typically a popular time for outdoor seating, I found the indoor dining experience to be more enjoyable. The building itself is stunning, and the food is great. Their burrata, veal cutlet, branzino, and any pasta on primi piatti are must-tries. I highly recommend pairing your meal with a good bottle of Chianti. Additionally, I want to give a special shoutout to Fausto, who is undoubtedly one of the best server you’ll ever encounter.
This restaurant was highly recommended by local Italian friends and it did not disappoint. Had an excellent meal with my family of four. We ordered some of their salumi and appetizers followed by some past dishes. Overall was delicious. Service was friendly and attentive. Setting was beautiful. Highly recommend it!
