Description
Emilia-Romagna is Italy’s Food Valley, known for its diverse gastronomy and unique products like Parmigiano Reggiano, charcuterie, and Aceto Balsamico. This region boasts over 40 traditional certified foods and follows a farm-to-table philosophy. On this tour, you’ll meet local producers, hear their stories, and sample world-renowned food products. Our meeting point is at 8:00 am at Parma's train station. Parma is easily accessible by train from other major cities in the area, such as Modena, Bologna, and Milan. If you need help finding the best options, please feel free to ask. Our first stop will be at the Parmigiano Reggiano dairy farm, where we will witness the production process and have a guided tasting of the famous cheese. During the visit, you will have the opportunity to observe the production of this cheese king and take some great photos with your friends and family surrounded by thousands of wheels of Parmigiano Reggiano. Our next stop is “Salumificio Conti” in Langhirano Valley. We’ll see how Prosciutto di Parma is made and learn about the entire process from raw meat to the final aging room. The process is carried out with dedication, skill, and farm-to-table ingredients. After the tour, you can disembark at the train station near Parma’s city centre. Our expert guide can recommend traditional restaurants for lunch or suggest nearby attractions. The half-day tour lasts 5 hours between 1:00 and 1:30 pm; meanwhile, the full-day tour lasts 8 hours. By joining the full-day tour, you can learn more about the local history and have lunch at a local restaurant, though incredible experiences such as: Authentic lunch in Trattoria: Savour the authentic flavours of Parma with an included lunch in a local restaurant. From tortelli (filled ravioli pasta) to torta fritta (fried dough to fill with cured meats and cheeses), get ready to loosen your belt. Torrechiara Castle visit: Visit Torrechiara Castle in Parma for a captivating blend of history, culture, and stunning landscapes. This 15th-century castle is famous for love stories and Hollywood movies. Experience breathtaking architecture and panoramic views. Don’t miss it!Includes
