I'm almost embarrassed to admit that we came to this great place 4 times in our 4 night stay visit as our first city in Italy. The staff, the food, the service, the people watching are all above and beyond normal if not flat out great. While we visited with most of the service staff a young man named Mateo was exceptionally fantastic. Well we returned after 5 weeks of traveling Italy and of all the places we experienced I can now say, this is my happy place. I honestly could sit here for hours just enjoying a beverage or nine and people watch all day. Delighted to have the same waiter who recognized us. The only bad thing (not really bad) is that the table we sat at, on all our previous visits is now occupied by others. Such is life, is it not? I'm not a good guy but otherwise everything is great. Pretty tricky (small and winding) stairway to the lower level restrooms. If you can, trust me here, sit outside. The people watching is way above the norm. We are back in Milan in about 4 weeks time for another 3 night stay and as Arnold once said, " I'll be Back".

Went in for a quick breakfast and coffee… or so I thought. I was on my own and at inside next to the window. They were quick to find me a table but had not provided a menu. Asked one of the waiters for a menu, gave me the nod. Nothing for 10m. Had to flag again and gave me a QR code to scan - menu all in Italian. Luckily I only really wanted a cappuccino and a croissant. Waited another 10m to order… not exaggerating. Croissant was brought over immediately since they have a display centre of cafe. Cappuccino… another 10m. Had to remind the waiter twice before it was brought over. All the while people seated outside were served relatively promptly since I was observing and people watching whilst waiting! Getting the bill was the same, this time 5m and asking 3 different staff members. Cappuccino and custard croissant were nice but not worth the 30m wait time in total.

We waited almost 30 min for someone to come get our order, and eventually had to go up and go order. After another 30 min (so we are at one hour), we had to get up twice to ask for our drinks and eventually got them ourselves. When we asked for snacks, a member of the staff told us they were busy and we should wait more time (we went ourselves to get them…) If it wasnt for the sun, no way we would have stayed. PS the blond lady working there is an angel, and only waiter working in this place, very polite and helpful.

Wow! This is a classic cult Milan bistro. Delicious small dishes. Oysters absoluteöy faboulous. The entrecote was excellent and the wine tasty. The ambience is very Milanese chic. Dont miss this opportunity to look at people and be looked at.
