Depart from Milan Central Station at 7:15 a.m. by comfortable bus to Stresa, a lakeside resort on Lake Maggiore. From Stresa, board the ferry to visit the three main islands of the Borromean archipelago.
Your first stop is Isola Madre, where you can explore the botanical park featuring rare plants and colorful bird species among orange trees and laurel groves.
Next, visit Isola Superiore, also known as Isola dei Pescatori (Fishermen's Island), the only permanently inhabited island. Discover its narrow streets and rustic multi-story houses that optimize the island's compact space.
