Description
Start by visiting the Holocaust Memorial near Central Station and discover where Jews were deported from. Reach Piazza della Scala by public transport and experience how music and memory intertwine through Verdi’s Nabucco, a symbol of exile and identity. Admire the square and the Gallery of Milan. See the former SS headquarters where Jews were imprisoned and tortured. Remember with a stumbling stone/Stolperstein. Explore a Renaissance courtyard, once the Fascist police HQ. Walk to the Duomo via Piazza dei Mercanti, and end at Milan’s Central Synagogue. The entrance is not included.
As you walk and admire the city, you will discover the history of the Jews in Milan from the Roman period to the present.
