- Take a train from Milan or any station in Lombardy to Lecco. Walk 10 minutes to the pier for a ferry toward Varenna. To visit Castello di Vezio, choose the 30 minute uphill path or a 40 minute stroll near Villa Monastero. Use comfortable shoes. Your ticket includes unlimited rail travel between Lecco and Colico for total flexibility. Return to Milan for a stress free day trip
