• Take a train from Milan or any station in Lombardy to Desenzano or Peschiera. From Milan, the rail journey leads to the lake for a 2 hour ferry cruise toward Gardone Riviera. This boat ride is a central part of the experience, offering great views of the shoreline. Check boat schedules in advance to visit the Vittoriale degli Italiani and the Heller Botanical Garden. Both sites are walking distance from the pier. Wear comfortable shoes. When ready, take the ferry back and catch your return train to Milan for a stress free all in one day trip. TRAVEL TIP Travel from Milan or any station in Lombardy by reaching a station on the RE6 VERONA-BRESCIA-MILANO line. Take any train toward Verona and get off at DESENZANO DEL GARDA or PESCHIERA DEL GARDA (travel time from MILANO CENTRALE: 82’ to Desenzano and 93’ to Peschiera).
