Description
Rosé wine is an expression of vitality and 'modern dolce vita', like its colours, smells and flavours: - the colour immediately captures us, as soon as we pour it into the glass, with its infinite chromatic nuances: from soft pink to claret, from cherry to coral, right through to intense pink; - on the nose it expresses a bouquet that often releases floral and fruity notes, sometimes balsamic, and on the palate it is fresh and balanced, slightly tannic and with an acidity similar to that of white wines. - how is a still rosé wine made? We will learn about the 3 main production methods and the most important Italian regions producing rosé wine. Rosé wine is the product of the vine grower who created it, the indissoluble reflection between vine variety, terroir and choices in the cellar. It is made from red grapes obtained by macerating the must on the skins for a variable length of time, which defines its more or less intense colour. It is NOT the result of a mixture of red and white wine, a technique prohibited by law with exceptions for rosé sparkling wines. We will learn about the 3 major production methods the short maceration (one-night wine or one-day wine), the 'bloodletting' method, the direct pressing. We will learn about the major Italian areas for producing rosé wine (see photo). And of course we will taste 3 splendid multi-award-winning rosé wines together.Includes
