  • Take a stroll through the city center and discover art and beauty in hidden corners
  • Marvel at the vibrant colors of paintings and frescoes dating back the 15th and 16th centuries
  • Admire Cà Granda and the architectural style of Filarete

Description

Your 3-hour walking tour will begin with your guide showing you the mighty Sforza Castle and telling you about its fascinating history. Learn how the great duke Francesco Sforza, the first patron of the Milanese Renaissance, transformed the castle into his residence. Learn how his son, Ludovico Sforza, wanted the genius of Leonardo da Vinci and the talent of Donato Bramante surrounding himself at the court in Milan. Admire the building where Cecilia Gallerani, the beautiful lover of Ludovico, used to live. The site is now one of the most important drama theaters in Europe. Walking through the amazing Duomo square (the late gothic Cathedral), reach Cà Granda, the first great public hospital in Europe, where your guide will take you an informative journey through Filarete's architecture. You will be amazed by the colors of frescoes in the Counter-Reformation Church of St. Anthony and mesmerized by the feeling of peace emanated by the cloister. Discover just how much art and beauty lies hidden in the city, much of it in alleyways that are difficult to find on your own. Finish off the tour with a pleasant stroll in Guastalla Garden to appreciate green areas in the city, then close back nearby Duomo.
