Description

Opened in 1953, the Museum is one of the largest science and technology museums in Europe a place where you can travel in the past, present and future. Nestled in the cloisters of a Renaissance monastery, it extends over 50,000 square meters and it hosts permanent exhibitions, digital installations and educational labs on astronomy and space, energy, materials, transport, food science, genetics, biotechnology, and particle physics. Find out more about unique objects such as steam trains and trams, the Toti Submarine, the Luna Rossa AC72 catamaran, the brigantine schooner Ebe, the deck of the Conte Biancamano transatlantic, a Vega space launcher full scale model and the only fragment of lunar rock in Italy.. In this guided tour we explore the Leonardo Galleries, the largest permanent exhibition in the world dedicated to Leonardo da Vinci engineer and humanist. A spectacular setting accompanies you on a journey that, starting from the Florence of the fifteenth century, traces the training of Da Vinci and the influence of Tuscan engineers up to his stay in the Milan of the Sforza. A journey through the art of war, work and production, flight, waterways and architecture that ends with a perspective on Da Vinci’s influence on Lombard Renaissance painting and an immersive installation dedicated to drawings of the last period of Da Vinci’s activity. More than 1,300 square meters and 170 historical models, works of art, antique volumes and installations that bring the exhibition’s narrative to life. We do not recommend the tour to children aged under 9. The entrance ticket also allows a free tour of the entire National Museum of Science and Technology Leonardo Da Vinci.
